Finding a good baby sitter is a daunting task for many parents who have little options. There are a few good resources out there and there a some wise approaches to take when choosing a baby sitter for your family. There are also signs that you may have made the wrong choice.
This biggest step is finding someone to care for your child or children. Many parent dread leaving their children with anyone at all, even professional daycare providers. Leaving your little ones in another person’s care is a difficulty task but it is a good step to take to ensure that your child develops a healthy attachment to you.
If your child is in daycare, you may want to inquire about “parents’ night out”. Some daycare providers offer this service so finding a baby sitter is not actually necessary. My niece goes to daycare three times each week. I am her baby sitter the other two days. Her daycare has one Saturday each month in which the daycare workers will watch the children for a small fee. This useful service is a great resource for parents.
Not all daycare providers will offer a baby sitter service. You also may need a baby sitter on a night other than the one selected by the company. Your children may not have grandparents who are physically able to tend to their needs. You could live far away from friends and family or you just may not feel comfortable bothering anyone who does not baby sit professionally. What does a parent do?
It is crucial to create a network. Ask friends and neighbors who have children the same age as yours who they use. You can make inquires at work and at church. Both of these resources can be a great way to find the perfect baby sitter in your area.
Once you have found your baby sitter you may find yourself questioning your decision. Is the person too inexperienced? Is my child getting the right kind of care? Does this person really care about my child’s well-being? These are all valid questions. There are a few signs that your baby sitter is not top choice.
Watch your child’s behavior. Does your child cry or get unreasonably upset when the baby sitter arrives? Is your child way too eager for your return? We all know that most children are excited to see you but if your child is staring out of the window or standing by the door after you have been away for over an hour, it is time to consider finding a new baby sitter.

Baby Photos
Baby photos are a nice way to keep track of all the momentous steps they make in growth and development along the way. The first ultrasound makes a great baby photo that excited expectant parents can show off to friends and family even before the baby is born. These ultrasound photos are a unique addition to the baby book as baby’s first photo. Expectant parents can also visit the internet to see baby photos of the fetus in different stages of development, so that they know what is happening during each stage of the pregnancy. This couldn’t be any more exciting for an expectant mother and father. A very special glimpse at how babies kick and move about in the warm amniotic fluid filled sack. It’s hard to believe until you actually see it for yourself.
The more traditional baby photos that most of us think of are the first pictures from the hospital, with the baby wrapped like a burrito in a blanket with a cute hand knit hat on. Some babies are even dressed in cute little outfits that are usually two sizes too big, and they are either cooing for the camera or are not cooperative at all. These first baby photos are the most precious and can be included on the birth announcements so that everyone will get a copy to keep. This is just the beginning of the large collection of baby photos that will soon be accumulating; every movement, sleeping poses, and smile or coo is a reason to take a picture. Baby photos taken by professional photographers are also a nice way to celebrate the birth of a new baby. Parents can pose together or individually with the baby (or babies in the case of multiples) in either color or black and white for a stunning portrait. You can also submit pictures to baby photo contests and maybe your baby will be chosen the winner!
If you don’t have a new baby of your own, and need to collect baby photos for a special project, or just because you want to check them out, visit a number of online sites that have nothing but creative, cute, and adorable baby photos. Some of the most popular baby photos are the ones taken by Anne Geddes, which can be seen in a number of formats, such as calendars, wall portraits, cups, greeting cards, and on other items too. Those cute pictures with the babies dressed as flowers or bumble bees, posed so perfectly in watering cans, copper tubs, and claw foot bath tubs really make a nice gift item or you can buy one for yourself just because they’re so darn cute! Baby photos reflect the innocence that was in all of us at one time, when we didn’t have a care in the world!

As a mother of three, with a fourth on the way, I have always found baby room decoration to be one of the most pleasant and rewarding parts of parenthood. My husband and I have, together, picked out unique and different baby room decorations for the nurseries of each of our children, and this one is going to be the best one yet. We have always bought wonderful cribs, beds, toys, and other items of baby room decor with a discerning eye for quality and fun, but now for the first time, we are going to do up the whole room in a theme. Since the next one on the way is a girl, we have decided to use fairies as our motif for the baby room decoration. Picking out all of the designs and items, from murals, to wallpaper, to a crib, has been so much fun that I was almost sad to have to see the baby room almost finished. But seeing my little daughter enjoying her baby room decoration will be a joy in and of itself.
Of course, the very first items of baby room decoration to consider are the wallpaper or paint, and the floor. This sets the tone for everything else, like in any other kind of house decorating. We thought that, since we were using fairy baby room decoration, we would make everything in evening blue and deep forest green. The wallpaper is printed to look like giant grasses and plants, with dandelions lazily releasing their pretty white seeds on the breeze. There are flowers that we have painted on there to add to the baby room decoration, and in many of the flowers, or hovering around them, are little fairies peaking out. There are fairy posters on the walls, and even fairies hanging from the ceiling on strings. The crib itself is covered with fairy baby room decoration in the form of green, twisting vines with flowers peaking out above. And, of course, no baby room decoration scheme would ever be at all complete without having a mural dangling above the crib for the little one to look at and play with. The ceiling itself is a deep, soothing blue with little stars peaking out of it. We have spared no expense or detail in making our baby room decoration just absolutely perfect. I cannot wait until she is born. I’m sure she’ll love the baby room decoration we have set up for her.

baby feeding
All parents start off with good intentions, but some think they know everything, and don’t want to listen to the advice of their doctors. I know this first hand. My sister had her baby about the same time that my little girl was born, and we had vastly different ways of feeding the babies. I couldn’t breast feed, so my daughter was on formula. My sister choose not to do so, so her baby was also on formula. Our methods of baby feeding were vastly different from each other even though we had the same pediatrician.
I guess I took the pediatrician’s advice about baby feeding much more seriously than my sister did. I was told that bottle should not go in the microwave because they heat unevenly. When that happens, there can be parts of the bottle that can be too hot and the babies mouth might be burned when feeding. I listened to this advice and she did not. I guess everything turned out okay, but I wasn’t about to take the chance. She informed me that she didn’t have the time to heat them otherwise. I thought she should make time, but I guess it was none of my business.
Another thing about baby feeding that I took very seriously was how long they should remain on a strictly breast milk or formula diet. My pediatrician said that baby feedings of cereals should not happen until the baby is at least six months old. I listed to this, and gave her only formula for the required time. My sister, however, began cereal at four weeks, stating that the baby slept better that way. I was told that the baby’s system cannot handle the food, but she didn’t care. I guess every mother is different.
If you have a new one on the way, you should really pay attention to the rules about baby feeding. These rules aren’t there to give you more work, or to stop your baby from sleeping through the night. These rules have been determined to be of the most benefit to your baby. If you aren’t ready to spend a little more time warming up the bottle or getting up at night, perhaps you should rethink the whole thing. I guess that sounds a little preachy, but babies are so helpless, and they depend on your to make the right choices for them. That’s never something that should be taken lightly.
