Digital Cameras

Filed Under (Info) by admin on 31-07-2009

I love my digital camera. I don’t understand it, but I still love it. I’ve had the camera for four years now, but I’ve only been using it over the past six months or so. This is because I ran out of the disposable cameras left over from my wedding and because I have a new subject to photograph. This brings me to the concern I have with my complex little machine.

We all hate red-eye. Well, I think we all do. The red-eye removal feature is available in nearly all digital cameras. My digital camera offers a setting that eliminates red-eye. This feature also seems to eliminate poses, spontaneous moments and smiles as well. Even though I warn my subjects, “There’s going to be a flash before the actual flash,” I still find that people tend to look away or put the kid down just as the real flash is poofing. I have recorded a number of pictures of people exhaling with an “Okay, I can relax” expression on their faces. I also have a good collection of pictures of people walking away.

Forget spontaneous moments. By the time the second flash poofs, the moment has passed and I find myself poised behind the shutter (if digital cameras have a shutter) waiting for the next moment, which I will inevitably miss. I also have a series of pictures from moments just passed and pictures of moments I thought might happen but didn’t.

Then comes smile issue. The smile issue has an effect on even the most seasoned poser. There is a knee-jerk reaction to the initial flash that is directly reflected in the subject’s expression, usually centering on the strained smile. Digital cameras with the delayed flash often shock the subject into a blank stare. I can live with this. What vexes me is that I want a nice, smiley picture of my daughter. This is impossible with the double-flash. In the picture above, the child had been smiling broadly. Mommy presses the button and flash number one sobers her and I’m left with a baby looking at me like, “Why on earth did you do that to me?”

No more red-eye feature for me when using digital cameras. I had to consider what I really want out of my photos. What do I want; a smiling, red-eyed baby or a frowning, clear-eyed baby? I choose the former. From what I hear, you can fix red-eye right on your computer. I guess that I can start trying to figure out the Photoshop program I installed three years ago.

Security Cage

Filed Under (Info) by admin on 30-07-2009

Security cages come in all shapes and sizes, and can allow for a great deal of peace of mind for many business owners, from mom-and-pop shops to multi billion dollar corporations. Security cages allow businesses and even private homes to keep important materials secure, even within a general-access area of a building.

Large security cages can cover areas the size of entire rooms, and can either be portable or permanently anchored into the surrounding building. Portable systems allow the cages to be broken down and transported to other locations, helpful if a business moves often or has contracted positions at a variety of locations. Permanent cages, though more expensive to install, are generally more secure and harder to break into than portable systems.

Most large cages are either made up of chain link fencing, similar to that used in outdoor fences, or wire mesh. Chain link fence, though cheaper to purchase and install, generally doesn’t provide the same security as wire mesh. Both, however, can be permanent or portable and can be used to seal off large areas of rooms or even entire areas of a building quickly and easily.

Smaller security cages can cover areas from the size of a computer workstation to a single copier or VCR. They are useful in protecting electronic equipment in high-traffic areas like schools or waiting rooms from theft as they can allow for the use of electronics without allowing the electronics to be moved from their positions. They are often anchored or bolted to desks or walls, preventing the items from being moved at all. A large cage can protect a cubicle workspace, providing a measure of security in a general area that can be accessed by a large number of people. These smaller cages are usually made up either of reinforced bars or of steel mesh. Bar-style cages are nice for schools or universities that need to keep electronic equipment in classrooms without worrying about theft while the classrooms are unoccupied. They allow projectors or computers to be used over the course of the day without allowing them to be moved around the room or out of the room by anyone not authorized to do so.

Security cages allow documents, medicines, electronics, or other expensive or sensitive items to be kept secure while still allowing unrestricted use by authorized personnel. They can be used to increase security in already secure areas or to secure items in publicly accessed areas. They also come in a convenient range of sizes to keep any range of items safe and sound.

Ranch House Designs

Filed Under (Info) by admin on 29-07-2009

I’ve wanted to design my own ranch house for years, but was hindered by a lack of architectural knowledge. I’ve been pretty handy since I was little. My father was always at work out back in his little workshop, and he taught me how to fix and build all manner of household projects so I figured, why should drawing and building ranch house designs be any different.

I’ve never been one to let common sense stand in my way. I thought that ranch house designs would be easier than other houses, because they only take up one story, and so don’t require as much structural support. I knew the ins and outs of wiring and plumbing, and knew a little bit about post and beam construction, so I figured what the heck, and gut an architectural CAD program to start working out some ranch house designs.

Well, as they say, live and learn. Just learning the program enough to come up with my ranch house designs was practically nightmarish. Architectural CAD programs are used by professional house designers, and ease of use is not the number one consideration which goes into designing them. Whether you’re designing a ranch house, or just laying out your bathroom, there is much more that goes in to layout than you might imagine.

And then there are safety regulations which you must keep in mind. Legal ranch house designs don’t just incorporate floor plan and roof. You have to learn all about designing and building a foundation, and that is another set of skills altogether. Then there are fire safety codes, legal load limits, basement design to insure water-tightness. By the time I had come up with a few finished ranch house designs, two years had passed.

I picked my favorite ranch house design, enlisted the weekend aid of a few friends, and got to work. It was like the whole project was doomed. I picked had picked the most ambitious of the ranch house designs, a house plan far beyond my ability. Because it wasn’t a simple rectangular floor plan, but instead incorporated an internal courtyard, it was hideously difficult to precisely excavate and lay out the basement. And once this was done, there was an unseen problem - the courtyard entrance was so small, that I couldn’t get heavy equipment needed for house construction through the door. I’m happy to be designing and building my own ranch house, but I’m glad I’ll only have to do it once.

Affiliate Program Directory

Filed Under (Web Development) by admin on 28-07-2009

I have been looking at ways of earning money from home on the internet. It seems that there are multiple listings for being an affiliate or associate for different companies. As I looked at various websites it seems that most companies offer an affiliate program, but how do you choose the one that is right for you. As I was doing my research I found that there is an affiliate program directory. This proved to be very helpful to me.

The affiliate program directory offers many resources for associates. I found that the affiliate program directory did a nice job of reviewing the different programs that are available. There are listings that place the different programs into categories so that it is easier to find a product, service or organization that fits your interest area. The affiliate program directory also offers tips for associates. This is done through newsletters as well as forums. In the affiliate program directory you can pick and choose without feeling pressured to work for a certain company. This is helpful because it seems that every website that you visit is pushing to sell you on one particular product or program. The comparison over the various one and two tier programs was the most helpful for me.

As I am doing more research into the area of affiliates and associates I am finding that there are many companies that claim you will make huge amounts of money weekly by being an affiliate for their company or product. It is important to ask questions about how much money you have to invest in advertising to get the huge commission checks. I am sure that there are some affiliates that do make large sums of money; however they are also investing large sums in advertising. The affiliate program directory helped me look at this more closely. I did this by joining the forums and posting questions to the different associates. I know that I am relying on the person responding to be honest in their response, however you have to place your trust in something and I am hoping that through the variety of responses I receive someone will be honest with me.

The internet provides a world of opportunities for the person that wants to work at home. The key is finding an honest program that will deliver what they promise. The affiliate program directory is one tool to use to find a program that will match your individual needs and interests.

Back Massager Guide

Filed Under (Leisure) by admin on 27-07-2009

back massager

Besides the running jokes about what most really use a back massager for, most people tend to use them for their intended purpose. These things are awesome for just about anyone who has pain in the back on occasion, and if you are over 25, that probably means you. Back pain often comes as a fact of life, and other times it is due to injury or overuse. Some people over extend when they exercise, and some abuse their back without realizing it by the way they lift at work or at home, and some have bad posture will sitting at a computer.

No matter why someone has back pain, if the pain is the result of muscle strain, a good back massager is a must. Though getting a massage by a real person is always better, that is not always possible, and not always affordable. We would all love to get a massage once a week, but most don’t want to spend that much money. That is when a good back massager becomes invaluable. The best thing about them is that they don’t have to cost that much to do a good job.

When choosing a back massager, find on with a variety of settings. When you have a small ache, you may not need something that jars your teeth when you use it. However, for more specific and intense pain, you might want something a little more powerful. The whole point of the back massager is to loosen up muscles that have bunched up in the back. This is often why there is pain. In fact, this type of pain can be so bad a person might be sure they have done something very serious. At times, muscles bunch in protest, and it is hard to get them to let go.

If you need a back massager, don’t go for the novelty type unless you only get pain on rare occasion and you will only use it on occasion. Someone who has a lot of pain wants something with a long handle to reach all parts of the back, and something that is adjustable. You may pay more, but you are going to get your money’s worth in this case. The smaller ones can be used on your back with the assistance of others, but you can’t always be sure someone will be around to help you out when you need it the most.
